Hurricane Gustav Disaster Relief – Day One

September 2, 2008

Five guys from our church pulled out of Mattoon @ 9pm Monday headed to Louisiana.

We drove thru a ton of rain and wind as we made the 12 trip to southern Louisiana. Due to flooding, we location of where we were going to setup our site changed multiple times. Baton Rogue, Lafayette, Homua, New Iberia.

When we arrived at our site today, we only had about 90 minutes to do a little bit of setup, because of a 6pm curfew.
Here are a couple of pictures from the day.

There was an article posted online in the Journal Gazette and I heard news that it might run in print in tomorrows paper.

I’ll probably be blogging just once a day here, to see updates all day long. Check out my twitter.

  1. so you’re picture coverage is a lot better than Travis Spencer’s. 🙂 Seriously, it’s so cool that you guys are doing this.
