Jesus People started out as a web-series but is now moving to the big screen.
I’m not really sure that this movie is mocking God as much as it is mocking people.
I wonder if the world really thinks that we are this disengaged to the world, and that they really view Christians like this.

My blog has been slow this past month. There is reason for this.
I have not talked about First Assembly on the blog for a while. There is reason for this.
My schedule has been loaded. There is reason for this.

All of this came out this past Sunday at First Assembly. Listen here.
Now, I’m able to talk.
I’m able to share.
I’m able to throw at you what I’ve been working on the past months.

First Assembly made a statement in October that we are going to do whatever it takes that is legal and moral to reach people that aren’t being reached.
There are 20,000 people in Mattoon, and over 40 churches in town”.
Yet, 70% of the people in Mattoon don’t attend a church.

We are wanting to be the church that the 70% would attend.
To do that, we are going to be a church that is advancing with guts.

The changes that are being made at First Assembly are summarized into four words.
Multipy
Serve
Improve
Identity

I will share what each of those mean, through out the week.

I’ve heard people talk about Lifechurch.tv for a while now.
I’m in the middle of reading Craig Groeschel’s book It.
First Assembly participated in the One Prayer campaign that Lifechurch.tv spearheaded.
But, I’ve never attended one of their Internet Campus services, until tonight. 

Tonight (Christmas Eve), I attended.
I participated in worship.
I chatted with other participating from all around the globe.
I talked with the Internet Campus pastor (Brandon Donaldson)
I followed the notes provided as Craig preached.
I flipped thru scripture as he taught.
I was part of a community.

If you’ve never have participated in a service at Lifechurch.tv, you should try it.
It’s incredible.

Our 1st-5th graders raised over $250
Our 6th-12th graders raised over $250 
It’s a family thing.

So in one  month our kids and students provide clean water for over 500 africans for a year!

The night our students gave their money, they also created shirts for Blood:Water Mission.
They were creative.
They were unique.
They were to connect more with missions.
With compassion.
With Jesus.

The Pipeline you guys are going to take this world by storm.
Don’t let anything or anyone stop you!

We challenged the kids (1st-5th graders) to give and whoever gave the most amount of money (boys vs girls) then they got to dump a bucket of water on Big Bunny’s head at the end of the kids’ christmas production.

They raised over $250.
That means that 250 Africans get clean water for a year!
And the boys won!

bill maher has recently released a movie called religulous.

According to Maher, the title of the film is a portmanteauderived from the words “religion” and “ridiculous”; the documentary examines and satirizes organizedreligion and religious belief. source

right before this clip, they are talking about safety for obama and the secret service success.
