For the next eight days I will be Honduras as part of the The 1814 Project.
The 1814 Project is a partnership between a local church in San Jeronimo, Honduras where we are working to bring spiritual, educational, and economical transformation.

While I just don’t want to share what I am doing, I want to also share about some other great organizations and what they are doing. And what you can do to be a part of something bigger than yourself.

I’ll be wearing a different shirt each day representing different businesses or non-profits.

You can have the coolest, fanciest, website, but if it can’t be viewed on a mobile phone, then it’s not functional.

Thanks to Chuck Scroggins, I just found out about the Wordpress Mobile Plugin.

What my site used to look like on mobile phones.

And now.

I lose a lot of look and feel.
But now viewers can actually read my content.
Mobile users understand that, and they aren’t looking for style, but looking for quick content.

One of the benefits of having an active blog is the opportunity to take part in book blog tours.
A blog tour is where an author or publisher gets a bunch of people to read their books and the post about them all in the same day/week.
Post about them on social networks, blogs, amazon reviews, ect.

By default Facebook sets your News Feed to only show 250 friends, you have to manually change it to see more.
Here’s how.

From the home page click “Most Recent.”

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Edit Options.”

The “News Feed” setting window will pop up, showing who you’ve blocked, and in the lower left by default you’ll see “250.” You can change this to whatever value you want. 5000 is maximum, same as number of friends you can have. Then click “Save,” and you will notice your “News Feed” being more populated.

Allow others to speak to your students.
It keeps them well rounded.
It keeps them engaged instead of hearing your voice for 52 weeks.

One way of doing it without all the costs of travel is video chat.
My friends Aaron and Kelly were able to speak briefly to our students thru Skype.

Aaron and Kelly were students at our first youth ministry.
I had the privilege of being with them all of their jr. high and high school years.

These are all blog’s titles on Jon Acuff’s blog “Stuff Christians Like.”

Started on March 21, 2008 as a reaction to the wildly popular blog Stuff White People Like which was created by Christian Lander, Stuff Christians Like is a blog about the funny things we Christians do. And what they just might reveal about our faith.

I’ve read Jon’s blog on and off for about a year.
Then I saw him speak at Cultivate this last fall.
Incredible.
One second your laughing about the idiosyncrasies of the Church/Christianity, and the next second pulled on the heart by the gospel.

Jon recently wrote a book with the same title, that will be releasing soon.

There is also going to be an audio version of the book too.

Or has it.
Has my blog just changed.
To more of an instant blog, instant content.
Instead of me waiting for the end of the day to post something.

Twitter is micro blogging right.
So, my blogging has just changed it’s face.

It’s the same resources.
Ideas.
Pictures.
Thoughts.
