Mikvah

Went to glenwood park tonight and talked about the ancient hebrew cleansing ritual, mikvah.

The ancient hebrews would walk into the mikvah, and when their feet would touch the water, they would ask god to bless their journey ahead. we challenged the students to do the same.

then they continued into the water, and when their hands would touch the water, they would ask god to bless their hands, and for them to be used for good and not evil. we challenged the students to do the same.

then they continued into the water, and when the water would immerse their hearts, they would ask god make their ways, his ways. then they continued into the water, until their head was immersed, as a symbol of god cleansing their minds.

played volleyball afterwards, it was refreshing.

got the idea of this faith lesson from romans 6:1-14, mars hill, and follow the rabbi
